I got a call from the Texas State Troopers oc. are they legit?

I have been getting calls from someone that claims that they are from the Texas State Troopers ociation, I told them not to keep calling me; but after a while I gave up and reluctantly told them I would give them a $25 dollar pledge. I looked up this group and have heard that they hire telemarketers to solicit their calls, and that the money donated hardly ever sees the troopers themselves. We have been living in our flat for just under a year. We live directly opposite our landlords who own several buildings on some farm land. All the properties (including our flat) have oil tanks that provide heating and hot water. Our landlords told us that they arrange for the oil to be delivered around October time for all the tenants and then we pay them �500 along with our rent. It got to October time so we asked about when the oil tank was going to be filled up and they said it'd be a little bit later as the oil company prefer to do all the houses together so we were to wait until all of our tanks were low so they could be completely filled. They told us our boiler was due for a service so it wouldn't be much longer. Anyway today our landlord approached us (when it was starting to snow heavily) and told us they'd had the delivery already but forgot to order oil for us. She told us that the oil company was unlikely to want to come back soon for one household so we would be low priority. We told her that because we had waited as she asked our oil was so low we had only an inch left. She just said oh well i suggest you shop around to see if you can get someone round soon and walked away. Apparently with average usage 2-3 inches of oil can last between 3-4 days and we have 1 inch left. We've looked on the internet and an oil company won't be able to come for 10-14 days. This will mean we will be without heating for possibly 2 weeks (we live in the middle of nowhere and the snow is pretty thick so we will be freezing, its only a garage flat so it doesn't hold heat very well) We can get an emergency delivery of the oil but this will cost us �600 instead of the usual �500. Of course we would have ordered it ourselves in good time but they insisted that they order for all the tenants and now we will suffer and have to pay an additional �100 just because they "forgot" us. I'm quite angry because its the xmas period, we pay our rent on time and everything and now we have this additional expense which isn't our fault. I'm more upset that she didn't apologize or offer more to help, she just informed us that we were forgotten and would probably be without heating for sometime, she didn't seem concerned that our oil is so low. My friend says we should pay for the emergency delivery but p the bill (the additional �100) on to the landlord. I imagine she would just laugh in my face if I tried that to be honest. We are thinking of finding somewhere else and leaving once our tenancy is up which will be in a few months. Any advice please. I don't really want to cause more problems by having a go at her but just wondered what your thoughts are.

A weeks worth of soup isn't going to hurt, I wouldn't think, but if you only ate low cal soup & got no other vitamins or minerals, & was on it for a month or longer, that's a crash diet (to me) & that would hurt your system.

A week ago we got a letter from a debt collecting service addressed to a woman we don't know but our address was on the envelope, thinking it was just a typo we sent the letter back and wrote on the envelope that no one with that name lived at that address. I've been working out for a month and have not lost any weight.?

I got a personal trainer, go 4-5 times a week and switch up treadmill, lunges, hipthigh machine, free weights, blaster, hamstrings, and more. I look smaller and everyone is telling me that I look slimmer but the scale won't budge. I'm drinking whey protein shakes about twice a day, don't eat anything fried, stick to chicken mostly, no sodas, and make sure I eat my carbs in the daytime BUT THE SCALE WON'T MOVE AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I know I could be stricter with my diet but still, I should have at least lost something. I'll be 30 next month does this have something to do with it?

Cant Wont Start =( Possible Engine Frozen, How to solve ?

Evening folks, I have a Rover 25 1.4 W Reg. Drove the car on Saturday 1st Jan 2010 went to drive it this morning (5th Jan 2010) and the car wont start. All I get is clicking noise. Ive opened the bonnot and squeezed the rubber pipes toward the front of the engine bay and can feel a slush type ice inside. Im guessing the car engine is frozen. I dont have a garage to ge the car inside. Im a member of RAC but havnt called them cause Im unsure if they will be able to do anything if the pipes have ice in them. Ive also added some anti freeze today but an unsure of the last itme it was done (please excuse me im a new driver) Is it best to just leave th car engine to thaw when the weather gets better ?? Its been suggested to me that it maybe just a battery problem.

Playstation 2/3 multiplayer games?

Does anybody know any playstation2 or 3 games that 2 or more players can play at same time such as in Shrek 1 or Narnia etc. On some games the back-cover says 1-2 players but this is only a small component of the game in a special part of the menu. Engine cracked water was boiling?

Hello. I borrowed a car from a friend , i went to another city with it all was ok , we were coming back home all was ok till at one point i was on motorway and while overtaking another car i heard a noise while i was accelerating and after that the engine just stopped and saw like smoke coming out. I pulled over not that i had any other choice , when we open we saw the water boiling u could definitely boiled eggs for breakfast. As a notice the car is pretty old i think more or less 94 reg or something. i did not really cared to check stuff before i used it thinking that a friend wouldn`t borrow u a car knowing is not right to drive it. Ok now the problem is , he`s telling me that he needs another engine. Any ideas what could of happen? i mean an engine doesn`t just stop after dunno 50 miles of driving and the water wouldn`t boil with no reason.Another problem might be , my friend got off the car and ofc with no experience in cars she added cold water over the boiling water which at that point i wasn`t thinking either because is the first time it happen to me it is possible that she might of crack the engine this way? i mean she added water over the boiling one , we waited after that a while and then i tried to start the engine but it would not start. Oil change from hell?

I have a 2000 Toyota 4runner. The oil filter is in a rediculous spot. Toyota obviously did this on purpose so you have to go to the dealership to change the oil. Ive been back and forth from autozone 7 times today to try every oil filter wrench there is. Nothing will work because there is no room to turn any kind of tool, and the ratchet one doesn't work either because it props the extension up on an angle and a ratchet wont work either. I cant even puncture with a screw driver because there is no play to turn it. This is pure craziness and Ive never seen anything like this after changing oil for 20 years. I'm just gonna waste my new synthetic oil and put it in without changing the filter and take it to the mechanic in a few weeks. I dont even see how a mechanic can do it unless you remove the alternator or disemble skid plate and other parts.

Topping up oil on Peugeot 306 diesel? Cont...?

I have flash CS3 at home. I want to create a flash game for my English cl based on the Shakespearean play "Macbeth." As of now, I don't really have many ideas. I only have one. A game such as a click and move forward game. Like, you are given four options maybe and you have to click the correct one to move forward. If you click the correct one, a picture comes up and you move further in the story. If you click the wrong one, a picture comes up and you are sent back to the beginning.
