Why are my Rosy Tetra's swimming sideways over each other?

I don't think they're ill, just curious really. I've had 2 Rosy Tetras in my tank for about 3 months, more recently they keep swimming over each other sidewards, almost as if to show they're silver sides. Is this a mating ritual between a male and female or two males indicating they're superiority?
