Does my friend have bi-polar disorder?

It seems fairly likely that she suffers from BPD. I think she has to tell her doctor all the points you included in your question here and ask him/her why he/she does not think your friend has BPD. I suppose the doctor should have a strong reason to prescribe or not prescribe a drug.
