I really like this guy but We have never spoken a word?

I really like this guy but we have never spoken a word to each other. He lives 1 hour and 30 mins away. I reeeeaaallly like him. We go to the same church but its a relatively big church so he doesnt really know me. There have been times when I have sat near him but he hasnt really noticed me. I also requested him on FB but he never did comfirm nor did he deny it so I just canceled it all together. I guess he only add people he knows. We have 1 mutal friend..How can I get his Attention? I really like him and i Know that he is looking for a gf. I want to walk up to him and say hi but I just cant because i am scared. I only see him about every 3 months but I will see him next month. He seems shy and i dont want to just kinda like scare me... whad do i do?
