Low carb diet- 45% fat, 45% protein,10% carbs- is it normal to be hungrier?

Im eating much more than what I would usually eat- im a girl 5'2, 53 kgs, sedentary worker. i have started a low carb/ keto type diet but find myself extremely hungrier. is this normal? why am i pushing 2000 calories when on a usual diet i would do 1200 or so?
