My family is going to NYC after graduation next year. What are some things we have to see while we're there?

I'd skip the Apple Store, and add SoHo for shopping. You can do SoHo, Chinatown, and Little Italy all in a few hours. Just eat good meals, take the subway, do a lot of walking, and you'll have had the true NY experience.
