Playstation 2/3 multiplayer games?

Does anybody know any playstation2 or 3 games that 2 or more players can play at same time such as in Shrek 1 or Narnia etc. On some games the back-cover says 1-2 players but this is only a small component of the game in a special part of the menu. It's very hard to tell which ones are proper multiplayer. I'm looking for games where there are multiple characters that different players can control. These i find the most fun. Any suggestions?
